SSFS Announce FREE Domestic Violence Information Sessions for women

SSFS today announced two upcoming FREE Domestic Violence Information Workshops - one on April 19th & one on May 10th - designed to inform local women who have been impacted by domestic violence to better understand their options, and support available to them.
Domestic Violence Information Session: Family Law Court & Mediation Processes

These FREE information sessions are for women who has experienced domestic violence to understand their options an support available. The 2 hour session includes information on the Family Law Court and alternatives like mediation. It includes guest speakers from a Family Law Solicitor and a Family Dispute Resolution practitioner.

School Holiday Art Classes for kids

Creative Hearts and Minds Art Classes for Kids are a great way for kids aged 6-12 years to express themselves while trying lots of different art making practices.

Here in the Sutherland Shire, we see hundreds of “Hannah’s” each year – women who are living an unimaginable nightmare, experiencing many forms of domestic violence, trying to leave their violent partners, who fear for their and their children’s lives. Women who come to us for help.
Djanaba director Jann celebrates 30 years service

Today we celebrated, Jann Griffiths, our Djanaba Occasional Care Centre Director for her 30 years of service to SSFS, with a team morning tea. This was a wonderful opportunity to thank Jann for caring for and brightening the lives of more than a thousand children during this time.

The Child Protection Helpline - 132 111 - is a number for the general public to report child abuse or neglect.
COVID-19 Virus Update - Services Unaffected at SSFS

With the World Health Organisation this week categorising COVID-19 as a Global Pandemic.. As at today's date (Friday 13th March), there are no interruptions to SSFS programs or services. We are reviewing the situation daily and following Government about service cancellation. We have taken heightened precautions around hygeine and cleanliness, and are encouraging all staff and clients to do the same.
Big Feelings in Little People: Emotion Coaching Workshop for Parents

This FREE Parent Education/ Emotion Coaching Workshop Series will be held on Wednesdays for 4 weeks during May (5, 12, 19 & 26) at our Jannali Centre. This 4 week program will help parents understand what emotion coaching is, and how they can use it to help their children understand and better manage their emotions. Limited places available.
