Having a baby at any age changes your life, but being a young parent can come with extra challenges.

Babies might not come with instruction books, but there are lots of tips we can share that will help you to have a great connection with your baby. The “Baby & Me” Parenting Support Group for Young Parents in the Sutherland Shire & St.George area is a great way to meet others in a similar situation, while grabbing a bite to eat, and learning lots about babies!

Who’s eligible?

If you’re under 24 years old, and either pregnant or have a newborn baby (under 6 months of age), and want to connect with other young parents, while learning everything you can about knowing, growing and bonding with your baby, then you’re invited to join us for a FREE 6 week “Baby & Me” Young Parenting Support Group.

What you’ll learn

At this Parenting Support Group, we’ll cover a range of topics including:

  • Looking after you (so you can look after your baby)
  • Connecting with your baby and the importance of sleep
  • Feeding & nutrition
  • How babies learn and the importance of play
  • Development milestones
  • The importance of attachment

When it’s on

The Term 4 (2019) Baby & Me Group commences on Tuesday, 22nd October 2019, and runs weekly, every Tuesday, for 6 weeks. When you join the group, you are committing to  come along every Tuesday from 12:30 – 2:30pm for the 6 week course. We’ll supply the light lunch (and make sure you get time to eat it!), and we can be sure you’ll come away a more confident parent to your little bub!

Want to join us?

If you’re under 24 and pregnant or have a young baby, you might want to have a look at this Baby & Me Info Flyer , but to book your spot,  you’ll need to call Sutherland Shire Family Services  on (02) 9528 2933.  Places are limited, and while the group is free, we need to know numbers to make sure we can get lunch ready for everyone.  You’ll also get the most out of the group if you come for all 6 weeks.

Do you work with young parents and want to know more?
