We follow the staff to child ratio as set by the Education and Care Services National Regulations. The Director and team of educators have appropriate tertiary qualifications, first aid training and Working with Children Checks. As educators we have adopted a holistic approach to children’s learning. We plan quality experiences, recognise and extend on moments of spontaneous learning and implement ongoing reflective practice that works effectively in our occasional care, family group setting. We consider unstructured, spontaneous play as powerful and necessary as planned, intentional teaching experiences. We view family as children’s first and most influential teachers. We endeavour to work collaboratively with families and develop positive, respectful relationships. We encourage open, friendly communication between educators and caregivers. We recognise the individuality of each family’s structure and cultural background and strive to acknowledge this in our approach to teaching and children’s learning.
