Rachel Roberts - SSWDVCAS Acting Co-ordinator Rachel Roberts is proud Bundjalung and Worimi woman, who is currently leading our Southern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, who provide support to women referred by Police who are going through Sutherland Court for an ADVO matter, work with women on safety plans, manage high risk cases, as well as general referral and advocacy work. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in criminology and Indigenous studies. She also has a Cert IV in Mental Health, and extensive experience working in Community Services, in both Mental Health Case Management and General Health Case Management. She won the 2019 Indigenous Female Rising Star UNSW award “Burbuga Birrung”. Rachel's role at SSFS is to co-ordinate our two teams, St George DVCAS and Sutherland Shire DVCAS. Both teams consist of two intake referral officers and a safety action coordinator. Additionally, we have two specialist roles, a multicultural specialist and an Aboriginal specialist worker. The team also have an assistant coordinator that provides additional support where needed.
